VHS Transfer to DVD Service
VHS tapes were the dominant format for home videos
throughout the 1980s and 1990s. These black constructed
plastic boxes held two spools upon which half-inch thick
magnetic tape would be wound. These cassettes could hold
up to twelve hundred feet of magnetic tape, and
depending on the recording setting, could record several
hours of video. It was only after 2000 that VHS tapes
would be replaced by a new format, the digital versatile
disc. Today DVDs, time-shifting DVR's, and blue-ray
players make VHS tapes and the video cassette players a
mere memory of the past. |
